At 6,961 meters, it's the highest mountain outside Asia. You don't need to climb it to see it: from Laguna de Horcones, a short walk from the road, its south face comes into view.

Getting there

About 180 km from Mendoza city on Route 7. Hiking beyond Horcones or attempting the summit requires a park permit.
