Fiambalá and the Six-Thousanders Route
Hot springs, dunes and volcanoes
An oasis of vineyards at the foot of the Andes, surrounded by dunes. From here Route 60 climbs toward the San Francisco Pass among volcanoes over six thousand meters high, including Ojos del Salado, the world's highest volcano.
What not to miss
- The Fiambalá hot springs, stepped pools in the mountains
- The Saujil sand dunes
- Route 60 toward the San Francisco Pass
Getting there
About 330 km from San Fernando del Valle de Catamarca on Routes 38 and 60, via Tinogasta. The road to the pass climbs above 4,000 meters, so allow time and make sure the car is ready.
