Copo National Park
The wildest dry Chaco
Over 100,000 hectares of red quebracho forest in the province's northeast. It shelters the jaguar, the giant anteater and the giant armadillo, and it is one of the least visited parks in the country.
What not to miss
- Exploring the quebracho forest with a ranger
- Looking for anteater and giant armadillo tracks
- The silence of the forest at dawn
Getting there
The park office is in Pampa de los Guanacos on Route 16, about 400 km from Santiago del Estero. Access roads are unpaved: let the ranger know before you go and avoid summer, when heat and rain make roads difficult.
