Across the viaduct, at 4,220 meters
The train leaves San Antonio de los Cobres, a Puna town above 3,700 meters, and reaches the La Polvorilla Viaduct: 224 meters of iron, 63 meters above the ravine floor. The road from Salta runs through the Quebrada del Toro.

Getting there
San Antonio de los Cobres is about 165 km from Salta on Route 51. Tours include transfers from Salta, or you can drive there and take only the train. Departure days vary by season, so check before you go.
