Iberá Wetlands
Shining water
One of the world's largest wetlands, with lagoons, marshes and floating islands in central Corrientes. Caimans, capybaras and marsh deer can be seen up close, and jaguars have returned thanks to a reintroduction project.
What not to miss
- A boat trip on Laguna Iberá
- The trails and boardwalks at Colonia Carlos Pellegrini
- Wildlife watching at dawn or dusk
Getting there
The most common gateway is Colonia Carlos Pellegrini, about 120 km from Mercedes along gravel Route 40. Other entrances, such as Carambola or Cambyretá, start from different parts of the province.
